Our Weekend Stay at Swissotel Sydney

Written By Taline Gabrielian 27 Sep 2019
Our Weekend Stay at Swissotel Sydney
After a hectic (and super exciting) few months of work, I was so pumped to take a few days off from mum / life / work duties and check into Swissotel in Sydney. I love a city stay as it doesn't require too much planning or packing, and provides a mini break from the day-to-day routine.

Swissotel Sydney, a little hidden gem located right in the heart of Sydney's cbd, the ideal check in for a hit of pampering, shopping, and chill.

During our stay, we were treated to some of Swissotel's signature offerings, including a comfortable city view Executive Suite which included an incredible view of The Sydney Tower, a Purovel spa / massage treatment at Spa and Sport, dinner at JPG Restaurant with options from their Vitality menu, an in-room breakfast spread of dreams, and their weekend buffet high tea with a great range of gluten free options.

With a seperate living and bedroom area, our suite was roomy and super comfortable. We were welcomed with a fruit platter and signature treats and had some time to get acquainted with the hotel services. I love to begin a weekend stay with a massage treatment. Touch therapy is a guaranteed entry into mindfulness, as it allows you to tap into your body and create some distance from your mind and the endless lists and to-do's. I feel like it's the best way to wind down from work mode and re-energise all my senses.

The Hot Stone Purovel Mountain Massage did exactly that and more. Inspired by the Alpine Seasons, the Purovel Spa treatment was incredibly relaxing and was such a treat. The highlight was their use of 100% springtime blend of essential oils that included rose, lavender and pine.

The scent and the energy was so delicious, I didn't want my treatment to end! A herbal berry tea to complete the treatment, and I was set for our date night.

That evening, we had a long candle-lit dinner booked at JPG Restaurantthe hotel's own upscale contemporary take on modern Australian classics, and a pre-dinner cocktail at the Crossroads Bar.

It's so nice to have time to catch up with no-where to be but together, in each other's company. The menu was fab, with a great list of healthy 'Vitality' options, including a seedy slaw and a gorgeous beetroot starter, we were incredibly satisfied with our choices. The attention to detail needs to be noted here! The staff at the restaurant and bar were so accomodating and welcoming, we really felt at home. Feeling high on good food and wine, we retreated to our room for a quiet night in, and slept like babies, literally. The bed was so lush, with sheets that are 300 thread count frette linen. So soft!

The next morning, we were treated to an in-room luxury breakfast spread of dreams! Again, the choices were endless, with many options to suit the healthy-minded. We got to taste many of their dishes, and couldn't pin a favourite - they were all delicious. We took some snaps, ate up, and got ready to hit the city for some shopping.

We returned for the Swissotel signature high-tea, which included all the usual high tea favourites and much more.

With gluten free options galore, which included macarons and a seriously yummy carrot cake, we sipped our tea and reflected on how good it is to have some time away, just us.

It doesn't take a lot to organise a little weekend city escape. We decided we definitely need to do it more often, and felt very grateful to Swissotel Sydney for a seamless, comfortable stay.
